Get creative this school holiday with a workshop that combines basic machine sewing skills and digital design! Kids will sew their very own cushion and then personalise it using Cricut Design Space and heat transfer vinyl — the perfect way to add a name or fun design.
In this beginner-friendly class, kids will:
  • Learn basic machine sewing techniques while making a cushion from scratch
  • Explore Cricut Design Space to personalise their cushion with letters or designs
  • Apply heat transfer vinyl with guidance
  • Take home a cosy, one-of-a-kind cushion they made themselves
No experience? No problem! Our friendly instructors provide hands-on guidance every step of the way.
Want to make it a full day of crafting fun? Pair this workshop with our afternoon class: Glam Your Teddy – School Holiday Workshop.

Your teacher

Hi, I’m Deanne, a lifelong maker, teacher and creativity enthusiast. With over 20 years of experience teaching everything from high school students to adults in professional training settings, I’ve had the privilege of guiding thousands of people on their learning journeys. Along the way I have enjoyed working in a range of roles including as a high school teacher, workplace trainer and assessor, small business owner, cupcake artist and even a tutu maker, but the common thread has always been my love of teaching and creating.
I hold a Bachelor of Education and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, which have supported my passion for delivering effective and engaging workshops. My passion for teaching workshops began when I ran cupcake decorating classes years ago, and I saw the joy on people’s faces when they stepped back and admired something they had made with their own hands. That lightbulb moment of creativity is what continues to inspire me.
At our creative hub in Sydney’s south eastern suburbs, we run craft and sewing workshops designed to spark imagination, build confidence, and bring people together. Our kids and teens sessions are all about fun and self expression from “Bling and Things” custom tote bags, to PJ Party Creations, to making sleepover perfect cushions and jewellery boxes. For adults, we dive deeper into sewing skills, offering a mindful, relaxing way to learn something new and create something beautiful.
What makes our workshops special isn’t just the projects, though they’re pretty exciting, it’s the opportunity to connect and learn in an inclusive environment. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced maker, you’ll be supported every step of the way while having plenty of fun.
I believe creativity belongs to everyone, and I’m passionate about inspiring the next generation of makers as well as giving adults the chance to slow down, learn, and connect through craft. I can’t wait to welcome you into one of our classes and see what you’ll create.
